Beating Procrastination: My Journey to Building Consistent Habits and a Healthy Routine

READ THIS ONLY IF YOU’RE A BIG-TIME PROCRASTINATOR

This blog is for anyone trying to build consistency in their life—whether it’s skincare, studying, or healthy habits. I’ll be tracking my progress and sharing what works along the way.

I’m a big-time procrastinator who is going to try her best to stay consistent and build a healthy lifestyle routine. Yes, going to. I want to see if my strategies actually work and, at the same time, help others like me stay consistent and beat procrastination.

Now, you might be thinking, Why should I read about her progress? Well, as I mentioned, I’ll be sharing all the strategies that work for me, so you can try them too.

Stick with me if you’re someone who:

  • Tried to build a skincare routine but couldn’t stay consistent.
  • Planned an academic comeback but were too lazy to start.
  • Tried to sleep early but found yourself scrolling through Instagram at 3 a.m.
  • Wanted to eat healthy but ended up having a burger and fries for dinner last night.

Are you still here with me?

WHAT THIS BLOG IS ABOUT

This blog is my way of holding myself accountable. I’ll track my progress as I try to build a healthy lifestyle and beat procrastination. Instead of uploading daily updates (because let’s be honest, that’s too much for a procrastinator like me), I’ll summarise my week every weekend.

Here’s what you can expect from me:

  1. Honest Updates: I’ll share my wins and failures—no sugar-coating.
  2. Practical Strategies: Every week, I’ll highlight what worked for me so you can try it too.
  3. Relatable Struggles: This isn’t about perfection; it’s about progress.

MY GOALS FOR WEEK 1

To start small, I’m focusing on these three areas this week:

  1. Workout: Yes, I’m finally going to join the gym tomorrow—no excuses.
  2. Learning: Spend at least an hour every day learning something.
  3. Skincare: Follow a consistent morning and night skincare routine.

At the end of the week, I’ll share how I did, what I struggled with, and any tips that helped me push through.

WHY I’M DOING THIS

I’ve tried (and failed) to build habits more times than I can count. I’d start a routine with all the excitement in the world, only to give up a few days later. Sound familiar? This time, I want to approach things differently:

  • Small Steps: Instead of aiming for a complete lifestyle overhaul, I’ll focus on building one habit at a time.
  • Accountability: Writing this blog and sharing my journey will keep me motivated to stay consistent.
  • Helping Others: If my journey helps even one person stay consistent, it’s worth it.

THIS IS DAY 1

This is my first day of writing. I’ll update you about my progress at the end of the week. Let’s be real—what if I get lazy and stop writing altogether? Isn’t it too much for a procrastinator like me to document daily progress?

So, I’ll write everything about my week’s progress over the weekend and share my strategies with you.
